Thursday night was the usual night out for some patients of Bright Vision Hospital (BVH). In the past, BVH relied on a few volunteers to bring out patients on wheel chairs for a stroll in the park nearby. Last night was special because more patients were brought out, thanks to a company who had the boss and his employees coming by to provide extra pair of hands.
12 patients got to move out the confine of the wards and breathe the fresh air at the park. It was quite an experience for the company staff and this was their first taste of such an encounter. They were enthusiastic and quite happy to be able to contribute and bring some cheers to the patients.
During the debrief, the boss of the company felt great that they had done something meaningful and wanted to contribute in the future.
This is a good start and hopefully this will lead to more corporations coming forward to do volunteer work at the hospital.
