Singapore Biennale 2008 – Central Promontory Site

We went to the Central Promontory Site on Thursday, 18 September, to view some installations and exhibitions.

What impressed me on reaching the site was this huge architectural pavilion designed and built by Japanese artist Shigeru Ban aptly named as Containart Pavilion. It was a creation that were constructed using 150 twenty-foot long shipping containers (APL) stacked together, along with 34 ten-meter recyclable paper tubes used as columns to the structure.

Snowscape by Hans Op de Beeck (Belgium) transports visitors to a different part of the world of snowy landscape right in the heart of  tropical Singapore.
