Writing blog posts requires time. I sometimes struggle to find topics to write on and at other times opportunities presented itself in a flood, like the company annual reporting season in March/April. During this period, I was on term break from work and therefore found time to write.
That will change as I head back to work for yet another term. There will be less frequent postings than before but I will continue to write only if I find anything more compelling to muse about.
During past weeks, I have asked myself how is the investment climate in the short term. To tell the truth, it was unexciting and rather flat. Having set up an equity portfolio, I am not divesting and neither am I investing because share prices had run up from previous low. The Straits Times Index (STI) touched 3,182 points yesterday. If some financial analysts were to be believed in, STI could reach 3,300 to 3,650 points in the fourth quarter of 2011. I am less bullish than most analysts and I will realise some capital gains as the STI continues its climb.
