Performance of Transport companies in third quarter (Part 6)

This shows how operators of public transport were doing for quarter period from July to September 2011.

The quarter profits attributable to shareholders are in dollar terms and the figures in brackets show the percentage change over the same quarter of the previous year. The interim dividend (cents per share) is the next number.

Company with increase in profits
ComfortDelgro $69.1 m (+ 12.5%) No dividend proposed

Companies with reduction in profits
SBS Transit $10.6 m (- 16.4%) No dividend proposed
SMRT $34.1 m (- 25.6%) 1.75 cents per share

Based on third quarter results, ComfortDelgro did well compared to SMRT. Despite having a weaker performance, SMRT still declared an interim dividend of 1.75 cents per share.
