Second quarter 2012 results (Consolidated)

Companies had started reporting their financial results for the quarter covering 1 April to 30 June 2012 (Second Quarter 2012).

The following table provides information on net profit attributable to shareholders and year-on-year change between current period in 2012 against corresponding period of 2011. It includes information on dividend declared for the quarter by the board of directors.

Note: Most companies reported their second quarter results except for a few marked with *.

The list is sorted by net profits for the quarter ended 30 June 2012 in descending order. The previous quarter net profits (quarter ended 31 March 2012) are included in the last column for comparison purposes.

Singapore Telecom ranked top in net profit made.

When comparing this current quarter with previous quarter, 11 entities suffered reduction in profits. 13 entities showed an improvement: UOB, CapitaLand, SembCorp Industries, SembCorp Marine, Singapore Press Holdings, SIA, SIA Engineering, Comfort Delgro, Singapore Post, SMRT, Hyflux, Raffles Medical, K-Green Trust.

When comparing total net profits between two periods, net profits for June quarter declined 9.9% from March quarter. Will this downward trend continue into the next two quarters of this year? We will see.
