Donating part of investment gains

Since the start of this year, equity is investment of choice. US stock indices were at all-time high. Japan and Singapore equities (among others) too gave investors cause for cheers. Investors in these markets would have made investment gains during the year.

If one has made net realised gains on buying and selling shares, one can be generous and donate part of these gains to charitable organisation(s). As to quantum of donation, one assesses how much one can part with. It can be 20% or other percentages. The idea is to share one’s good fortune for a good cause.

I did. Would you?
