If you have an on-line account with DBS Vickers Securities, the commission rate for on-line SGX trade is flat S$9.88 from 21 January to 27 February 2015 (end of this month). This applies to trade of less than 1,000 shares and contract value less than or equal S$3,888.
(I know you will have more questions on the terms and conditions, please refer to DBS Vickers’ web-pages.)
The normal commission rate is a minimum S$25 and it starts to rise beyond S$25 when stock price traded is beyond S$8.94 for 1000 lot.
I took advantage of this Lunar New Year promotion by selling some 200 units of DBS at S$19.22 (with contract value of S$3,844) and paid S$9.88 commission instead of S$25. Commission rate paid was 0.25% of contract value instead of 0.65%. $15.12 difference may not appear much based on the value of the trade, but it can cover some meals for the day.
