The Straits Times Index (STI) continued to decline today. It was now 3,295.13 points. This is now down 2.0% since the start of this year.
If investors sold off STI component shares on 28 May (when the STI was still above 3,400 points), they would be better off today. From 28 May onwards, the STI declined 3.5%. This is significant and it dragged the STI under-water.
