Worst Quarter of 2015

July to September quarter was not good at all. Market value of my portfolio was down 5.51% on cost. The month before, the value was down 4.80%. On an individual investment basis, the changes ranged from +10.0% to -18.3%.

Even when my Singapore equities were down 18.0%, the dividend received so far since the start of 2015 was 3.35% on cost of investment. This was a decent yield.

SIA Retail Bonds (2.15%) matured yesterday after 5 years. I held the bonds for 5 years. The total sum invested was credited to my bank account yesterday. 2.15% per year was reasonable when compared with returns from fixed deposits of the banks over these years.

How will October be like? October had been spooky month for investors in the past. The third quarter financial results of companies are released in October. Are we seeing a slowdown in profit growth?
