Taking profits on unit trusts

At the start of January, I decided to realise the gains made on three unit trusts.

  1. LionGlobal Singapore Dividend Equity Fund SGD – A
  2. First State Asian Growth (ex Japan) Fund
  3. Aberdeen Global Emerging Markets SGD – A

LionGlobal Singapore Dividend Equity Fund

This fund distributes dividends on a quarterly basis that were re-invested as units to my investments at prevailing net asset value (NAV).

Bought at Sold at Held for Rate of Return
$0.95 $1.119 2.5 years 10.3% per year

First State Asian Growth (ex Japan) Fund

This fund invests primarily in securities in the Asian region excluding Japan (such as S Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, Singapore, China).

Bought at Sold at Held for Rate of Return
$1.9917 $2.8038 3.5 years 8.9% per year

Aberdeen Global Emerging Markets Fund

This fund invests in emerging stock markets worldwide or companies with significant activities in emerging markets.

Bought at Sold at Held for Rate of Return
$1.9816 $2.3707 1 year 18.5% per year

The rate of returns on these three funds exceeded my expectations of investment returns. The global equity markets had a good run in 2017. It shows in the returns of the above funds.
