Singapore Equity Portfolio lost ground again

Two weeks into May 2021, the Straits Times Index (STI) lost 5.0%. The Straits Times Index (STI) lost 5.0% from 3,218.27 points on 30 April to 3,055.02 points on 14 May 2021.

My Singapore equity portfolio lost 6.1%. This was worse than the STI.

The stocks that dragged my portfolio down were:

Counter Change (%)
SembCorp Marine -14.8%
Aztech Global -14.7%
SPH -14.1%
SingPost -11.0%
StarHub -10.4%
SembCorp Industries -9.9%
SPH Reit -8.5%
Comfort Delgro -8.1%
Singtel -7.2%

However, my SPDR STI ETF held out quite well, losing only 4.5%.

STI ETF -4.5%

SPH was in the news recently. It lost 14.1%. SPH will in time become a property company without the media businesses if its shareholders approve.

Singtel lost 7.2%. It was in the news that the company is going to take an exceptional charge of S$839 million in the second half of the accounting period.
