Stocks on STI unexciting

The Straits Times Index (STI) had no major movements for the past 9 months except for March (+7.3%) and August (-3.5%). See table below.

The total securities market turnover of each month reflects the interest of the stock market of Singapore. These figures are shown above.

The past four months (June to September) activities were a “ho hum”. Turnovers hovered around $25.0 billion to $27.0 billion. Interest in the Singapore stocks was not there. One can go to sleep and wake up feeling “same-same”. The STI hardly moved.
